MIDs integrate mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical and/or fluidic functions and offer advantages such as miniaturization, design flexibility, and efficiency improvements. In particular, the additive manufacturing of mechatronic systems (Additive Mechatronics) opens up new possibilities through customized designs and functional integration.
