Optris and Micro-Epsilon Conclude 21 Years of Successful Cooperation

After 21 years of successful cooperation, Optris and Micro-Epsilon are amicably ending their partnership. Since 2003, the cooperation has made a significant contribution to establishing Optris as the world's leading manufacturer of infrared temperature measurement technology.

Optris was founded as an innovative company dedicated to developing infrared temperature measurement technology. The early success of Optris can be significantly attributed to the financial support and strategic backing provided by Micro-Epsilon. Reflecting on this long-standing relationship, Dr. Ulrich Kienitz, founder of Optris, expressed his gratitude: "We are thankful to Micro-Epsilon for this enduring partnership, especially during the early years when Optris was just beginning to develop its sales network and company structure." The initial support of Micro-Epsilon was pivotal in helping Optris become a global leader in the infrared temperature measurement industry.

In 2017, as part of a strategic realignment,
Dr. Ulrich Kienitz, the founder and majority owner, acquired all remaining business shares once owned by Micro-Epsilon, to ensure continued reinvestment in the company's future growth.

The decision to end the sales partnership today was made by mutual agreement as both companies are now focusing on their respective core businesses.

Dr. Sascha Kienitz, who succeeded his father, Dr. Ulrich Kienitz, remarked on the decision:
"As both parties pursue new strategic directions and concentrate on their core competencies, it feels like the right time to embrace new challenges and opportunities independently"
